Paper Casting!

Well here is technique I never would have thought of myself!! My bestie, Kim, was doing the blog round and stumbled across this amazingly creative idea that gives a beautiful shabby chic look.
Kim came to my house and showed me how to do it! I then used the image to make a Mothers Day card for my beautiful mum.

I have used the script stamp from the Rustic Rooster set, flowers from Eastern Blooms, leaves from Bodacious Boquet (retired) and sentiment from Occasional Greetings.... just a few!!
Colours used are Baja Breeze, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss!
The technique uses 'toilet paper' of all things - something we all have handy!! I have used my blush brush to dust Rose Red chalk over the image. (look out for the rosey red cheeks on me tomorrow!)
If you would like to see the instructions for this technique, click on this link. A huge thank you to Danielle for this fabolous idea and very clear instructions.

21st Birthday Tin

I posted some time ago a card that I made for my niece's 21st in May... well I have now decorated a tin (lunch pail style) as a gift for her.
I am going to put 'index cards' inside it for all her friends to sign at her party as a keepsake. Her favourite colours are red, white and black - hence the colour scheme - which I think worked a treat.

As you can probably see, there is not much SU product here at all. Just the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon in red, black and white. Everything else is from my stash or bought for the project..

The clock represents time, obviously!! As in where has the time gone, how did you get to 21yrs old already?... and you couldn't have a 21st present without a key!

Well, I am very pleased with the result of this little project and hope LaShae likes it too... let me know what you think. xxx

Top Note Template from SU

I have become obsessed with the 'Top Note' shape since the new IB&C came out... It is featured quite a bit in the catty and used a lot in scrapbooking layouts in other mags as well. Stampin' Up! has supplied a template on the Demonstrator website and I just had to use it!!

Andrew (hubby) and I were invited to a House Warming party last weekend, so had to come up with a card... below is what I made. The photography is very poor - sorry - I make a better card maker than photographer ;-)

Hope you like it - if you can see it LOL!!
I have used some of the new DSP Bella Rose, Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip card stock with mathcing inks. Heartfelt Thanks stamp set and Chocolate Chip Ribbon from SU and the paper flowers and pearls are from my stash. The words are printed from the computer onto cardstock - trimmed and then I used the Corner Rounder punch. Last but not least - the Whisper White card stock in the middle has been put thru the Cuttlebug!

Scrap Fun with 'Wild About You!'

After raiding my girlfriends stamp sets (hehehe! thanks Tiff xoxo) I found the Wild About You stamp set. How cute is that!! I have to admit, I haven't really looked at it before :-o!
But I had lots of fun creating this little animal stack up the side of the page and layering it up with dimensionals! (which is shown in the second photo)

Hope you like it and thanks for visiting again!

Don't forget if you click on the photos you get a better look!

Launch Fun!

Well, as promised - below are photos of the projects we made at the 09/10 IB&C Launch. I need to start by thanking all the wonderful girls who came along and made the afternnon lots of fun - so a huge thankyou to Tiffany, Kirstie, Darleen, Therese, Joy and Kirsten.
I focused on one new stamp set this time called 'Good Friend' from the New Catalogue. Its a two step stamping set - which simply means - you can stamp more than one stamp, one after the other to make a picture. For instance the birds head/body, the beak and the legs are three seperate stamps! Its great fun and made very easy with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! A great little tool which allows you to position stamps exactly where you want them. The girls who hadn't used it before were very impressed.
I also used the new In Colors for the projects.... I know, I know - get to the photos already!
Ok first up is the three projects....

Below is the card using Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White card stock. As we couldn't preorder the new 1/4" Choc Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, I dyed some white grosgrain with the Choc Chip reinker. It actually came out matching the Close to Cocoa card stock perfectly!!! This is a window card which I found the instructions for on Split Coast Stampers website.

Next is the little Easter Wishes Box. We used Tangarine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White card stock for this one. The Sentiment is from the Occassional Greetings set. The old favourite punches I love, Scallop cirle, 3/8" circle and the Word window punch for the handle (which I forgot to take to the launch - sorry girls).

Last but not least is the 8" x 8" scrap layout. We used Kraft, Baja Breeze, Choc Chip and Whisper White card stock. Versamark, Baja Breeze and Choc Chip ink. The photo features two of my children provong they really do adore each other! Mitchell, almost 11! and Mae, nearly two!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these projects. If you are interested in seeing a copy of the New IB&C don't hesitate to contact me. My email address can be found in the column to the right.
