S.A.M Creative Challenge #4/ 8x8" Layout

This fortnights challenge over at Stamp a Memory is to create a page using only Black and White, with one extra colour added. You can use as many shades of that extra colour as you like but only that one. There have been some awesome entries and example pages by the design team so pop over and check them out.

This photo I have chosen is a favourite photo memory of two out of seven girlfriends that I play tennis with. We call ourselves the 'TWB' girls. That is Tennis with Benefits!. We go away once a year for a weekend to relax and have some girlie fun. This photo was taken at the Formal Night on the Pacific Dawn! Thats right, we went on a Cruise last year and had a fabulous couple of days away. 'Simply said' they are great 'Friends'.

The Stamped journaling up the left hand side reads, a friend is someone who makes it easy. Below is a close up of embellishments used.

Products used are
Card stock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Basic Black
DSP: Riding Hood Red Patterns Designer Series
Inks: Basic Black and Riding Hood Red
Stamps: Simply Said and Jumbo Outline
Others: Stampin Dimensionals, Silver Hodgepodge and Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon

This layout is for my 8x8" calendar that I Scrap every year. Its really nice each month to see a favourite memory from the year before and the kids get a real kick out of seeing themselves on the months where they feature! (its a real talking point with visitors too!)

Thanks again for stopping by, until next time, have a great week xx

More 1/2 Page Wonders!

Time for some more creations! After visiting with Bettina (fellow SU Demonstrator and friend) last night, I borrowed a couple of stamp sets to play with... thanks lovey!
I borrowed three sets that have always been on my wish list (really, really want them now that I have had a chance to play with them!) Fifth Avenue Floral, Simply Said and Circle Circus. They are all great sets to use with the 1/2 page wonder cards that we are doing in our class this Friday. If you haven't booked your seat, now would be a good time... come and have some fun and laughs with the girls.

In the following photos you will see how simple these cards are to make. Just stamp up a 1/2 sheet of A4 card stock and punch shapes and edges or cut strips and stick them on with a bit of ribbon and a sentiment and there you have it! Each 1/2 page of background stamping will get you three or four cards.

This first lot are my favourite - Fifth Avenue Floral.

I have used Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze card stock and ink.

Next is Circle Circus (tried to make some for the blokes in our lives).

This one is Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango card stock and ink.

Next is the lovely Simply said set.

I used Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla card stock and ink.

And last but not least my own Enjoy Every Moment set.

This one is Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette card stock and ink.

Well that was lots of fun, I hope you have enjoyed this post! Thanks for stopping by xx

50th Anniversary Card

One of my dearest friends asked me to make a 50th Anniversary card for her inlaws... I was a bit stumped at first and didn't really know what I should do.
I originally wanted to do something formal and all black and white, but I couldn't get hold of the stamp set I wanted to use and gave up on that idea!

So, next idea was to try the vintage look...

What do you think... did it work? I am pleased with it I think - jury is still out!

Fast 1/2 Page Wonder Class!

What... another class? Yep thats right! I had lots of fun today with the five ladies who came to the Valentines Day Card Class, so thought I would book in the next one!
What is a 1/4 page wonder you ask?? Well, its a technique I saw on Claire Daly's blog ( yes, Claire again! She's so clever) and I thought it would be a great technique to share in a class.
All you have to do is stamp up a 1/4 page of whisper white card stock with a background stamp of your choice, and then get busy with your punches! Then you simply arrange them on the front of a card and maybe add a bit of ribbon or Hodgepodge and a sentiment and whala - you have yourself a card. A very quick and easy card when you don't have a lot of time!

Below are four cards pictured that I had fun trying out this technique on!

This snippet shows you the stamps that I have used are from the Pocket Silhouettes set, stamped in three different colours to match the card stock. Then some very simple paper piercing in the corner!

This photo shows the same stamp set but different coloured card stock and also shows the lovely sentiments from the Wonderful Favourites set.

And last but not least... this photo shows how much the Silver Hodgepodge can add to a very simple card. I love that there are Approx 100 pieces in the tin to choose from. They really add some class and shine to your card or scrap page.

If you would like to join in the fun and try out this technique, please ring or email me to book your seat! (class date and time are in the right hand column)

Thanks for stopping by xxx

SAM Creative Challenge #3

Hi all! Its been a while since doing anything creative.... but slowly getting back into the swing of it. I subscribe to the very talented Claire Daly's blog and discovered a wonderfully inspiring Scrapbooking site, called Stamp a Memeory (aka SAM) that her and a few other SU Demonstrators have started. They are running a Scrapbooking challenge this month where the only requirements are that you use 70-75% Stampin' Up products on your page and the word "LOVE". I loved the sound of this one and decided to have a go! I have managed to use 100% SU products and was really happy with the result.

Ink: Basic Grey
Punches: Scalloped Circle and 1/2" Circle
